Dr. Casie Headrick was born in Hutchinson, Kansas. Shortly after her birth, her family relocated to Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas where she was raised and attended Lakeside High School. Throughout high school she was part of the National Honor’s Society, trumpeted in the band, played golf and was the yearbook editor in chief her senior year. She studied Biology and Physical Science at the University of Central Arkansas, graduating and receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree. During her studies, she was a research aid for a neurologist and geneticist; as well as an active sorority member in Sigma Sigma Sigma.
Dr. Headrick discovered her passion for patient care as a child by watching her father dedicate his life to anesthesiology. It was her own optometrist that directed her into the specific field of ocular and visual health.
The spring of her graduating year, Dr. Headrick was accepted to the University of Missouri, St. Louis College of Optometry where she began her dedication to optometric care. She received an Academic Merit Scholarship upon admission and continued her excellent marks through professional school by being placed on the Dean’s List, as well as receiving an invitation from the National Optometric Honors Society, Beta Sigma Kappa. While a student, she became a member of the American Optometric Student Association as well as the Missouri Optometric Association.
She had the opportunity to practice clinical care in many diverse settings. Such as a Veterans Affair Hospital in Wichita, Kansas; a specialty clinic focused on traumatic brain injury rehabilitation and vision therapy in Portland, Oregon; and numerous, different community service affiliations in St. Louis, Missouri. Currently, Dr. Headrick is an active member of the Colorado Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and the Sports Vision Section of the AOA. Her interests include botany, animal watching, disc golf and baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. And as a new resident of Colorado, she enjoys hiking, fishing and camping with her fiancé in the mountains; and loves spending time with her family and pets.
